Psycho-dynamic Psychotherapy
This approach focuses on identifying and changing problematic behaviors, feelings, and thoughts by discovering their unconscious meanings and motivations. It involves a close working partnership between you and I. You will learn about yourself by gently exploring your interactions in the therapeutic relationship within each session.
I offer an outside, non-judgemental perspective on a problem that you might be having difficulty resolving.
I will help guide you to a new viewpoint or solution that you may have never considered or imagined possible.
There are different methods I may use.
My sessions requires very active method on your part. In order for it to be very successful you will need to work in and out of session. How much you can benefit from therapy depends on many factors, including how well you make use of the process and implement what you learn.
There are benefits and risks. Psychotherapy involves discussing unpleasant aspects of your life, you may experience uncomfortable feelings like sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, loneliness, or helplessness.
On the other hand, Psychotherapy has been shown to have many benefits. Therapy often leads to improved relationships, solutions to specific problems, significant reduction to symptoms of stress. But there is no guarantee of what you will experience.
My initial consultation will consist of evaluation of your needs. This session is just an introduction, so just bring in what you feel comfortable sharing. At the end of the session I will be able to offer you some first impression of what our work would include if you decide to continue with therapy with me.
You should evaluate this along with your own opinion of whether you should feel comfortable working with me.
Therapy consist of large commitment of time, money, and energy, you should be very careful about the therapist you select.
